IT GOVERNANCE SUMMIT

Last April, our annual IT Governance conference was held at the Intercontinental Hotel with 193 delegates. The focus was on Governance, Risk and Compliance which was a first for ISACA Manila.

The keynote speech was delivered by Sec. Ivan John Enrile Uy. Other speakers include Mr. Angel Redoble, Mr. Christian Lauron, Mr. Alan Bornas, Mr. Kevin Lai, Mr. Rainer Vergara , Mr. Hugh Barett , Mr. Christopher Faustino and Ms. Christine Tee.

GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING - 2nd Quarter

It was great seeing everyone last June 16 at Capone’s Bistro for our 2nd GMM.

The meeting was started by the reporting of our President Joey Regala with the 
following highlights:
-455 members as of June 2011
-New course offerings by Education – click here for the Training Calendar
-2011 International Leadership Conference in Las Vegas attended by our -President Joey Regala and Director Chito Jacinto. Please see story below as they recount their experiences.
-Future plans include more social activities and monthly mini meetings/technical sessions for members held in different areas (eg. Ortigas, Makati, Taguig, etc.)
-IT Audit and Fraud Summit in cooperation with IIA and ACFE on August 16. Please see www. isacamanilaconference.org for more details.
-Information Security Summit in November

The members present then voted for the amendment of the Articles of Incorporation to reflect the non profit nature of ISACA Manila, being a professional non profit 
organization. The votes shall be added to the votes from last year to meet the quota required.

Technical presentation was given by Mr. Simon Huang of Imation Singapore Pte Ltd. It was well received by the audience, particularly the advances in security of portable storage devices.

The meeting ended with the raffle of 2 units of Apollo Expert UX 320GB (external Hard Drive) and 1 unit of wireless headphone courtesy of Imation
