Year End Review
ISACA Manila certainly has a lot to celebrate and give thanks for the year that passed. Each committee and the volunteers contributed to achieve our thrust for this year namely:
- Improve member’s benefits
- Increase membership
- Promote ISACA
To innovate and improve administration, awareness, and member services, a lot of “firsts” happened this year.
Three (3) conferences in 1 year- To provide focused and more in depth topics, we tried the concept of having 3 conferences namely - IT Governance, IT Audit, and Information Security summit. It also gave us the chance to collaborate with other organizations-IIA and ACFE for the IT audit summit.
Free Technical Sessions- The Education Committee provided three (3) free technical sessions this year. What better way to give value to our members than to give quality, relevant, and updated knowledge to support career development. And best of all, its FREE!
Topnotchers and Volunteers Recognition- We know that recognition is very important to our members. That is why this year we hosted a dinner for the CISA and CISM topnotchers. Likewise, to show our appreciation for our dear volunteers, they were formally recognized during our last GMM and Christmas Party.
Courtesy Call to VP Binay- Last December, we were given the privilege of meeting with Vice President Jejomar Binay to introduce ISACA Manila. He is fully supportive of IT Governance and we are hoping that this would further strengthen our ties in the public sector.
Improved Finance and Administration- Reduction of Accounts Receivable, timely filing of regulatory requirements and office equipment upgrade are some of the key improvements in terms of Chapter Office operations.
New website and Social Media- Improving our profile online to reach more people is the objective behind the launch of our new site-www.isaca-manila.org and the increased use of social media. Our Facebook group is very active and growing. We recently created a Twitter and Linked In group so you can connect with us more easily.
Apart from the “firsts”, there have been a lot of big and small wins alike. All these combined efforts did not go unnoticed. Our chapter won the K. Wayne Snipes Regional Award (Large Chapter category) and the ISACA Large Chapter Growth Award. We are sure to be in the right track. Thank you and congratulations to everyone for a job well done. Let us aim higher in 2012. It is definitely more FUN to be an ISACA member!
